vegasvelo Sponsorship Program

General Information

The sponsorship program is re-worked for the 2005 season. It is meant to benefit the racers and the team and only includes team races. This includes Men and Women. It is essentially setup to promote participation, performance, and upgrading for the racers while still offering a platform for beginners. Additionally it is also meant to work well for those who are just beginning, have varying race goals, or who just want to be part of the best team in the Vegas Valley.

Mid season new members will not receive sponsorship benefits by definition. Exceptions could be made on a case by case basis.

Race Sign-up

When signing-up for races always use vegasvelo as the team name. You may know that our business name is Vegas Velo Racing Team, Inc., this is not to be used when signing up. This is for business purposes only.

Racer Levels

Elite Racers

• Full kit which will include 2 kits: 2 X Bibs, 2 X Short Sleeve Jerseys, Vest, Arm warmers, Knee warmers, Gloves, Socks and any other currently unknown sponsored items from manufactures. Long sleeve jerseys and skin suites are not included.
• Race Reimbursement.
• Lodging at Major A racers.
• Travel and lodging for specific events, TBD but may include Nationals and the like. Although, when possible we will still try to use free options.
• Performance incentive of $100 for a top 3 finish.

Cat 1, 2 Road Racers and Expert Level Mountain Bikers

• Race Reimbursement.
• Performance incentive of $100 for a top 3 finish.
• Participation incentive of $20 per race.

Cat 3 Racers and Sport Level Mountain Bikers

NOTE: To continue receiving performance incentives, Sport level mountain racers must upgrade to Expert after five top five finishes have been achieved.

NOTE: To continue receiving performance incentives, Cat 3 racers must upgrade to Cat 2 once 25 points in any 12-month period are earned; or 60 points in 12 months is an automatic upgrade.

• Race Reimbursement.
• Performance incentive of $50 for a top 3 finish.
• Participation incentive of $15 per race
• If upgraded during the season, they will receive the upgraded sponsorship benefits.

Cat 4 Racers

NOTE: To continue receiving performance incentives, Cat 4 racers must upgrade to Cat 3 once 20 points in any 12-month period are earned; or experience in 25 qualifying races with a minimum of 10 top-10 finishes. 30 points in 12 months is an automatic upgrade.

• Performance incentive of $25 for a top 3 finish.
• If upgraded during the season, they will receive the upgraded sponsorship benefits.

Racer Groups

Elite

The Elite racers are those who have been hand picked by the Race Director and have shown the commitment to training, structure, racing, and performance or a combination of these qualities. This group will change and / or grow over the upcoming seasons. This level maybe in some cases the goal for other racers on the team to achieve.

vegasvelo has set Regional Pro and National Pro racing level goals for this decade. This group is responsible for beginning the building process for the team to achieve these goals. This will be done, alone with higher administration standards, by helping our team achieve top results which will continue to enhance our reputation in the Southwest United States. In turn, this will help the team recruit racers who will contribute to these lofty long-term goals.

Non Elite Racers

The Non Elite racers will receive reimbursement , participation, and performance payout on our listed team races which will be posted on the vegasvelo.com Website. The participation and performance incentive aspect accomplishes various goals that include: motivation to perform and upgrade, participate in our team races, increases payout of the team for those who race and perform, and lets those who want to be part of vegasvelo but may not want the pressure of performing, racing, and training to the degree required for top results. The monies this group receives through participation and performance can then be used to essentially pay themselves back for the initial team apparel investment that was made up front. Additionally, vegasvelo is making the up front investment in significant inventory levels so kits can be purchased through out the season as the participation and performance monies are received by this group.

Sponsorship:

Sponsorship will include only the listed Major A, B and C (there will be at least one MTB series included) races that are listed on our vegasvelo.com Website.

Reimbursement and Incentive

For anyone who is unaware, when our funds are depleted race reimbursement will end. We make every effort to accurately budget our funds at the beginning of the season and we try to be conservative but with any budgeting exercise it is not 100% precise. Thanks for understanding.

• Race Reimbursement - receipts must be received by the team administrator by the end of each month for the previous month. Include the race reimbursement (Elite & Cat 1,2,3) form, self addressed and stamped envelop, and results, if a stage race the general classification. NO EXCEPTIONS. Example: race reimbursement for July must be received by the end of August.
• Performance incentive – when a top 3 result is achieved the receipt and the performance incentive (Elite & Cat 1,2,3,4) form must be completed with the proper information i.e. category, date, event, placement, etc. and it must be received by the team administrator by the end of each month for the previous month with a self addressed and stamped envelope. NO EXCEPTIONS. Example: race reimbursement for July must be received by the end of August.
• Participation incentive – the participation incentive (Non-Elite Cat 1,2,3) form must be received by the team administrator by the end of each month for the previous month with a self addressed and stamped envelope. NO EXCEPTIONS. Example: race reimbursement for July must be received by the end of August.
